Secrets Revealed!


The evening of September 6th started full of anticipation. Bystanders at Emory’s campus looked on with curious eyes at the black stretch hummer limo parked near Few Hall. One by one six team captains from some of Emory’s best dance teams gathered around the limo. The teams were surprised to see a camera crew present on the scene. Evolution, DJ Red, and Hot 107.9

Soku DeNova attended Hot 107.9FM in downtown Atlanta to meet DJ Red, Hot 107.9’s new music coordinator. Mike and Nagib talked to him about the concept of Fusion!. After striking up an interesting conversation, Red discussed the future of Hip Hop. As a true expert on contemporary music, he mentions how Hip Hop must evolve and integrate the sounds of other cultures in order to grow. He was obviously passionate about diversity and the beauty of cultures. In his words, “I am sold on the idea!” Great! Fusion! is anticipating and excited to take giant leaps this year with DJ Red and Hot 107.9!

Bridging the Gap

On the evening of August 28, the Fusion committee, composed of students from Morehouse, Spelman, and Emory, attended Emory’s Best in Show performance.  Stepping out of their normal zone, it was a first appearance at a major Emory event for the Morehouse and Spelman (AUC) students.
